Linoleum on paper.

Originating as a figure drawing assignment with the prompt of “dramatic lighting,” this seated self-portrait found a new life as a linoleum print. The image became an experiment with a tall yet narrow block, with the topmost portion being cut from the side and crudely reattached. Solace’s dramatic image found its way into later iterations, being the source point for A Means to an End (A Cycle of Five).
